Alvin ja pikkuoravat 2 on hurmaava koko perheen komedia, jonka pääosissa nähdään edellisestä Alvin ja Pikkuoravat –elokuvasta tutut sympaattiset oravat Alvin, Tero ja Simo. Nämä coolit pikkuveijarit ovat muiden ”lasten” tavoin aloittaneet koulunkäynnin.
